Hey guys, I'm wondering if anyone else's eyes are totally messed up (ie. wrinkly, red sensitive skin) due to their goggles? I'm assuming it's because of my goggles.. I like them tight for races because I wear contacts and i'm terrified of having them fall off for that reason :/ But I was just wondering if anyone had this problem and if you found some solution? I'm planning to get eye cream or something as soon as I go back home.. ack, it's so annoying :(
P.S.- crossposted :}

oh man... getting in shape is brutal! is anyone else in the MAC conference? our (juniata's) football team (which is 0-10 in the MAC) decided that MAC football isn't killing them enough, so they're moving to the centennial conference. that means all the other MAC teams are screwed &the conference is disbanding... so we have to make a new one, &the teams in it are all upstate new york/new jersey/maryland/virginia. wtf? at least it won't happen until 2007-08, after i graduate...

Hey guysss~! My old username was jiggiee - just to let you know.
I actually have a question for you college guys :D
Ummm. I'm going to be a Freshman in college this fall, andd I was planning on taking a trip for a week or so during Christmas break. I was wondering.. how your practice schedules were during Christmas break? Do you have .. ANY practices then? I'm praying not, but no practice? ... PSH. That'd be highly unlikely. So, pleaase.. if you would, tell me your past schedules? I'm planning to go to Millersville, so.. it's Divison II, of course :)

i can believe no one is updating on here and its almost the end of the swim season.
hello, i live in hazleton.... sorta near allentown. i am part of a great time, some really awesome girls. the one guy on my team is going to nationals, sean coxe, in the 200, 1.50 is his time. he also swam the 50 saturday at bloomsburg (where another awesome swimmer swam, Stef Williams, her time for the 100 free is a 49) and got a 22. Enough bragging about my awesome team.
we play even harder teams, like Hoben, WVW, Girls Scranton Prep Team.
I said already, this is my first year, i came a long way from my first meet, where my 100 time was a 1.26, and 50 time was a 33. I am still sorta sucky, but my 100free is a 1.04, and my 50free is a 29. The first time i did the 200free i got a 2.34, just got a pr of 2.28, and my 500 was a 7.20, now a 6.50.
I have a far off shot of going to districts in the 200, the concideration time is a 2.29, and the automatic time for the 100 is a 1.01, there is no concideration time for that, they decide that after they look at who tries to enter.
hope everyone had a great season.
drop a comment on how it went.

My name is Lisa, I am 20 years old and a junior at Franklin and Marshall College in Lancaster. Orininally I come from the eastern shore of Maryland (ya, everyone up here knows about Ocean City!) I swim 100 and 200 back and 50 free...in high school I did more free events and IM as well. I used to be a distance swimmer but now I am clearly a sprinter! F&M is dIII but our coach is from a d1 school and really runs it at that caliber of a program, and you can definatly see the results of our work since he's been here. It's hard, harder than anything I have done before, but I'm getting used to it especially this year. My freshman year it was a bit overwhelming!
At home I had to drive an hour to swim, but now its right down the street and its so nice! Anyway, this community sounds great and I hope it gets even more active! It would be awesome if some other Centennial Conference people join too....any of those people out there?
Feel free to ask me anything about college swimming or anything else and you can look at the swimming page on our school's website, fandm.edu. Current Mood: happy

Hello! I'm Laurel, 14, and a freshman in high-school. So this'll be my first year in varsity swimming! Luckily I know the coach pretty well.
I used to swim for clubs.. Tri Valley Y and RACE. I also swim at Kutztown U for camps and clinics and whatnot. But for now... I'm just swimming with my school, Blue Mountain.
My favorite events are the 200 breast-stroke and the 200 IM. Haha, I don't even know my times! But yeah. I wish they had a 500 breast-stroke. Hm... I hate free-style, unless they're 50s or 25s. :P Don't like butterfly much either, I have REALLY weak arms. Back-stroke's fun, I guess. Current Mood: busy
Hi, I am from Hazleton.
This is my first year at the High school. I went to a small prep school last year and for freshman year. I am currently in 11th grade.
I use to do swimming when i was in 6th grade. So i still remember how to do the stokes and events, but I am rusty. I did basketball since I was in 2nd grade, and did not want to stick with it this year because the school is just so large, I wanted a sport i know i get something out of. That is why I picked swimming.
I am just an average girl, 5'8, 135 pounds. I am in decent shape, I did volleyball and run a couple times a week.
I was wondering if anyone had an advice for me because I know I need it.
Thank You. Current Mood: nervous

Hey guys, what's going on?
Thanks, Allie, for telling me how to post.
Anyway, I'm Katelin. I'll be a junior this year in high school, and I'm 16 years old. This season coming up will be my 9th year swimming for the Chambersburg YMCA Chargers. I also swim for my high school swim team, Chambersburg Trojans, oh yeah, lol. I don't really count myself as a good swimmer, I qualify for Y districts, but thats not too hard to do. I swim the 100 breast, and breast in the relay. And sometimes 100 free or 200 IM. So yeah. I'm also a lifeguard at the Chambersburg Municipal Pool, which is pretty much the best ever. And I occasionally work as a guard and as a swim instructor at the YMCA. That's pretty much it.
As Dory puts it, "just keep swimming, just keep swimming..."

well hey people! my name is sarah besecker, i'm 21 and i'm going to be a senior and captain of the clarion university swim team. we're a small d-2 school, but we keep a pretty good name for ourselves. i'm from chambersburg, pa... go chargers and trojans. i'm forced to be a long distance swimmer, but i prefer the mid-distances. basically i hate the mile, but no one else is stupid enough to swim it on my team... and the 1000 is okay, but only until you get to the 500. then it sucks. i LOVE the 50, but i've heard you're not supposed to do d.p.s. in that event. sometimes my coaches go crazy and let me do the 100 in a relay here and there... but basically my events are the 200 and the 500... and the 1000. and the mile. sometimes the 200 back which is really fun, but i'm not good enough at it to swim it at taper meets.
this is my third summer as a lifeguard at the chambersburg country club for all the nice rich people and their adorable children. and i'm on my ninth... count them... 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 years as a swimming instructor. outside of the pool, i'm an elementary education major... i'll be student teaching next fall and graduating december 2006. horray!! i'm really excited about life after college. hopefully i'll get to coach a high school swim team as well as teach in an elementary school. but that's enough blabbing... you guys have a great day! i know it's a little early... but good luck in the fall with swimming and school! adios amigos! hey everyone.. i am going to be a sophomore at east stroudsburg university. i really love college swimming, its hard work but definatley worth it. i grew up in delaware county and swam for Sun Valley HS and USS at Suburban. Suburban's coaches were amazing, but when the pool moved back to newtown square the drive got to be too much so i had to stop duriing my senior year.
